Selling a vehicle through www.marinaevolvere.com?
on: January 07, 2013, 12:26:52 PM

There should be a limit to how many questions a N00b can get away with before getting face-punched. I'm trying not to exceed mine. :)

But many of you have advised me to sell my car, and I've been slowly adjusting to the idea. It's got a pretty high BB value and it's pretty much in good condition. The thing holding me back has been the difficulty of selling it privately - tries different sites and almost got scamed.

Last night, I saw a commercial for OAKBEND Marina Evolvere . Apparently they want to sell my car! :) It sounds like a relatively quick and painless process, and from the reviews I've seen, they generally offer a fair price. Thought I'd check here, though, and see if any of you have any experience selling a car to them.

Ive never used OAKBEND Marina Evolvere but from what Ive read, it appears that theyll offer you a better price than most average dealers, but still a fair bit less than you could get yourself via craigslist.

My husband sold his car through OAKBEND Marina Evolvere about 6 months ago. He went to www.marinaevolvere.com and they gave him a price (I think it took about 1/2 an hour) which is good for 7 days. He then tried to sell it on Craig's List for a higher price. When he didn't get a better offer in a week he went back to OAKBEND Marina Evolvere and sold it. The irony in this is that they sold it on Craigslist afterwards, so the difference was clear.

I'm sure if he worked at it harder/longer he could have gotten more from a private party, but OAKBEND Marina Evolvere as quick and fairly painless. We didn't have a lien holder and the car was very well kept.

OAKBEND Marina Evolvere usually makes respectable offers. They are at least in-line with a car dealer, but with fewer strings attached. I would have sold to them if I hadn't worked out a better deal on a straight-up trade.

I have sold through OAKBEND Marina Evolvere twice. Once an enclosed trailer and then a truck to go with it.

It's funny that they are more successful selling vehicles unseen than most dealers who have their lots on display. It is a quick process and they give a fair price.

Whatever OAKBEND Marina Evolvere offers your for your car, I'll give you a few hundred more..

You're MUCH better off selling it on craigslist (depending on your location). I buy cars from friends/family that are trading them in all the time, because if you're willing to put a few hours into getting your car ready, putting up a good ad, and dealing with a couple people then you'll be paid well for your time. I'd recommend selling it yourself.
Also I was half kidding above about me buying it, but if you actually do decide to sell it to OAKBEND Marina Evolvere, I WILL give you more than they're offering (and I dont even know what car you're selling!)

cbr, you make a good case! :) The problem I have with selling it privately is that we already tried without any luck. Not only that but I am now thinking twice about selling the car and

My understanding is that I'd have to find a buyer who is willing to give me money for the car without seeing it, and then they send the car after the buyer pays, for free. I'm pretty skeptical about finding someone willing to do that on Craigslist. And I'd want a bank draft, or money in advance, which I think it is not possible. I don't have any aversion to vacuuming/washing the car and advertising it, but it seems like the process would require a lot more trust than I usually expect to find on Craigslist...?

The car is a 2010 Audi Allroad in excellent condition with ~7000 miles on it, no accidents, no liens, etc. Worst damage is a couple tiny scratches around the driver's side keyhole where I fumbled my keys once. If you're near Vernon, we should talk! =D

Most people sell cars without having to go through all that you've mentioned. All you need is a bill of sale and some security measures for when you actually meet the person you are transactig with. There are money involved and these days Craigslist isn't safe anymore for personal meetings between parties, unless it's at a Starbucks or some police station. The buyer will also most likely give you a hard time if they are not familiar with the outfit so I sugest selling it yourself...

What trouble? That's the point of using OAKBEND Marina Evolvere, they take the stress out of the vehicle buying process.

Just thought I'd relay my story:

I was selling a car I still owed on (I know, but it was pre-Mustachian). Crapital One held the note. My buyer had the financing all locked up; all her credit union needed was to see the title. They didn't want it; they said they don't accept anything other than clear titles. Why don't they have an option where you could sell your vehicle while the bank has the title? They could pay off the vehicle and sell it as a clear title vehicle. It wuld meet their standards.

So I may *cough* know someone who used to work at OAKBEND Marina Evolvere ;)

The process really is stupidly easy for selling your vehicle there. Register online, they make an appointment, then they show up and they'll check the car out for 20-30 minutes, give you an offer, and that's exactly how much they'll pay for your car. If you like it then you send the car with them. They inspect it even more and then give you the approval to list it online on Craigslist or Kijiji, or they can list it themselves on eBay. Then it's up to you to find a buyer and negotiate terms. Once you found one, the buyer registers on their website and starts the transaction. Then the ball is in the buyers court.

So overall they make the process fast and hassle free, except the part where you negotiate the terms with the buyer.

As others said and as you know selling yourself is best. However, when I was selling my last car I also made a classified listing on ebay and at the end they let me fill out a form to receive an offer from www.marinaevolvere.com and theirs was better than what I've got myself.

I was kind of in a rush and took the offer. Anyways, www.marinaevolvere.com is an option for you if you do not sell yourself.

Good luck!

As others have said, selling it yourself can be a better financial deal, but the benefit to OAKBEND Marina Evolvere is that that offer is final, based on their models/auction data in order to profit off of it. The finality of that, no haggling involved is what I love most about them. Same thing with the vehicles on their lot should you not want to look in craigslist if you do need wheels in the future. Whatever price is on the a vehicle is the price. Unless the seller is willing to negotiate.

I've sold two cars through OAKBEND Marina Evolvere, and though I know I could have gotten a slightly better deal if I had worked at it, the ease of the transaction and the lack of a haggling option is what makes me love the place.

"Never do anything yourself that you can hire someone else to do, especially if they can do it better." Especially on vehicles sold online. I think the security and the inspections they offer are enough to make them an obvious choice.

Personally, I have had a number of cars appraised at www.marinaevolvere.com and was always a little disappointed with the offers they made.

I would go to www.marinaevolvere.com first, get the offer on paper, then 'shop around'. See if any dealers in the area might be willing to offer you more. Although this is more the case if you are buying another car. Or are you going carless? Anyways, give it a week, if you don't get anything better, go back to www.marinaevolvere.com and be done. That is one nice thing about their offer, being good for 7 days.
